DOUGLAS HOGG

Douglas Hogg (b1948) studied at the Edinburgh College of Art from1966-1971 becoming head of the Stained and Architectural Glass degree course there in 1979. ​

Commissioned works include a large composite wall/window mural in the stairwell at the Edinburgh City Chambers, and an extensive ground-based installation within the Scottish Fern Collection at the Glasgow Botanic Garden. In 2012 he was chosen by Her Majesty the Queen to create a window marking Her Diamond Jubilee Year for The Queen's Chapel of the Savoy in central London. He was also one of two artists short-listed to prepare designs for a centenary window in the OBE Chapel in St Paul's Cathedral, London.

 

In 2003 he was awarded the Saltire Society Prize for Art in Architecture and in 2007 was installed as a Freeman of the City of London. More recently, in 2016, he was recognised by the Sir John Radcliffe Trust, Oxford for his contribution to glass in architecture.

Douglas was Natasha's Art Advisor or the Wilfred Owen window.
