Natasha O. Redina
Architectural stained glass artist Natasha Redina,
designs and makes large scale site specific artworks for both sacred and secular buildings,
as well as bespoke fine art exhibition pieces for collectors.

As a Livery recipient from the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass,
she has worked with various Master Glass Makers internationally and has won a number of prestigious awards and commissions, including first prize in Design for the Stevens Architectural Glass Competition two years in a row.

Natasha’s designs often start from a geometric base, so after extensive research, designing begins with a compass and ruler. Working with sand carving and drilling on mouth blown flash glass, her work is often deeply riven (embossed) so that the pattern stands out even without a light source. She paints using the sgraffito technique, (Italian: “scratched”), which consists of putting down a preliminary surface and then scratching the superficial layer in such a way that the pattern or shape emerges as light.

Her current research interests are in Biophilic design & how environments affect individuals. This research, combined with her Masters in Psychotherapy & her Degree in World Religions from SOAS, make her uniquely qualified to fulfil her aim, which is to remain respectful of the genius loci (spirit of a place) and to enhance and bring beauty to public and private spaces through transmitted light.
